Why I Burned the Rulebook (and My 9–5)

At the start of this year, I walked away from my 9–5 HR job. Not because I didn’t need the money, but because I couldn’t afford to keep living in a version of life that made me feel spiritually and emotionally bankrupt. The job was “safe,” but I was not okay.

I was burned out. Misaligned. Drowning in expectations — cultural, maternal, financial — and I knew deep in my soul that God had more for me.

So I got still. I got honest. And I got delusional.

I stopped waiting for the “right” time. I let go of the belief that I had to earn rest, joy, or freedom. And I chose to build a life centered around faith, digital income, and the freedom to raise my daughter on our terms — not society’s timeline.
